LIVEfor TimberNook

Sauk City, WI

Most programming designed for children these days is highly structured, leaving them with little time to dive into deep, authentic play. At LIVEfor, we are on a mission to preserve childhood, increase confidence, decrease anxiety, and allow time for creative thinking, problem solving and peer collaboration through movement. Our programs provide ample time for children of all abilities to exercise their imagination, take risks, confront challenges, and experience free play–and they do it all in the great outdoors! TimberNook programming is research backed and led by our pediatric Physical Therapist, Kathryn Kraft and our Physical Therapist Assistant, Katie Tredinnick who have become licensed TimberNook providers. With over 30 years of combined experience working with kids of all ages, Katie and Kathryn are tapping into the therapeutic benefits of being in nature in order to foster trust and independence in kids to help them go confidently in the direction of their dreams.

Why Timbernook

Parent Testimonials

"Our five-year-old was thrilled to learn that he could cut wood with a real saw. Meanwhile, our seven-year-old spent the entire week figuring out how to put a roof on his fort and by the end of the week, he had successfully done it. What made both of these experiences so meaningful was that they had to think through the challenges and discover solutions independently."

"TimberNook gave them confidence, opportunities for problem-solving, and some of their favorite memories of the Summer."

"Both our boys talked nonstop about how much they enjoyed every aspect of their week, from the games, read-alouds, and sensory activities to the friendships and social interactions they experienced."

"I appreciated how welcoming the leaders were and how genuinely they connected with the children. They encouraged the kids to stay engaged in their play, develop strategies, and work through challenges as they pursued their goals in the woods. It was clear that the leaders built meaningful relationships with all of the campers."

"This was our first time attending TimberNook, and it exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend the experience to other families looking for a program that fosters creativity, independence, problem-solving, and meaningful outdoor play."

"The storylines that carry through the week are really fun to hear about. And that my kid, who has trouble in a traditional school environment, feels perfectly safe, comfortable, and free to be herself at Timbernook."

"I love that TimberNook feels values-aligned with our own family values - rooted in nature, play, and a ton of depth cultivated through the themes and play framework. Feels so simple but is actually so intentional and sophisticated!"

"We are a diehard Timbernook family. I just appreciate Kathryn and Katie and all the time, thought, and intention they put into this program. I could never replicate this at home or in our homeschooling. I literally only have good things to say about the program."
